Gone By Michael Grant
One minute they’re there, the next GONE! Every person over the age of 14 Gone, Vanished.
In a town called “Perdido beach” the Teachers, parents, police and teens, anyone over 14 disappears simultaneously. Filled with Fear and Confusion, students Sam, Quinn and Astrid investigates the disappearances then finds out with the whole world out of adults, the kids RULE the towns. Within a few days chaos hits every street, Sam seeks to establish rules to bring peace.
“No. I believe in free will”
Sam and his friends notice things…STRANGE things. They notice that the animals start to changes, even mutate. Later on bizarre thing happen, the group encounter super-human abilities in them. Sam can shoot lasers from the palm of his hands; little Pete cane teleport and Caine (the leader) can use his mind to move things.
“That's your solution? Have a cookie?' Astrid asked.
As the days come closer and closer to Caine’s and Sam’s birthday, Sam thinks that Caine (blinded by power) is a threat to his goal to conquer the world. Sam and Caine battle it out for power between good and evil, but they refuse. In the end Caine goes to the darkness.
In conclusion the book from the start to the end it gets more intense and more descriptive.
I recommend this book to young adults who are in to mystery and the futuristic, “end” of the world type and I also recommend the second book “HUNGER”
